From Wax to Wow: How I Turned Candle Workshops into Spectacular Events

As we all know, COVID turned our worlds upside down. It left us yearning for those magical moments that come from spending quality time with loved ones. People started investing in experiences, craving the warmth of human connection like never before. But for me, it also marked the start of a journey filled with creativity, fun, and a pinch of extra sparkle.
Events Were in My Blood
Long before I ventured into candle workshops, I had a passion for turning everyday moments into something extraordinary. From birthday bashes to simple dinner parties, I'd obsess over the tiniest details. I'd experiment with food and beverages, go all out with decor, and constantly seek that "WOW" moment to make my guests smile.
I knew I was onto something when my love for celebrations, combined with my education in event planning, felt like a match made in event heaven. It was time to take the plunge!
Lighting Up the Scene
The first spark of inspiration hit me when I noticed a shift in the candle market. As people leaned into experiences, my candle sales saw a dip, but the demand for workshops was on the rise. I decided to fuse my expertise, my passion, and my love for candles into something unforgettable.
The result? Campy Home's Candle Making Workshops turned into full-blown events that were as bright and cheerful as the flames they birthed.

The Event That Started It All
Our very first event was a whirlwind of joy. Tickets? They sold out faster than you could say "candle wax"!
We kicked it off with live entertainment from the sensational Breakfast in Bed, setting the mood for an unforgettable night. The vibes were contagious, and the smiles were as bright as the candles we were about to create.
We also had extra special details that came from my beyond talented sister Meaghan, from Ruby + Parcel Co. She created branded wick holding sticks as well as gorgeous acrylic signage to have at all of our various stations. It’s the fine details like this that separate Campy from other events. 10/10 recommend her (& not just because we’re sisters!)
We couldn't stop at just candles and decor. We introduced a featured cocktail that left everyone buzzing with excitement, and our charcuterie board was the stuff of legends - seriously, it was a meal and an art piece! But wait, there's more! Our candy bar was a sugar lover's dream come true. Guests went wild, indulging their sweet tooth desires, all while crafting candles to their heart's content.
Why We Do What We Do
So, why did I start hosting these fantastic events? Well, the answer is simple - we live for those moments when people connect, laugh, and create together. It's the joy in seeing faces light up as they craft and the warmth in knowing we've brought people closer. The fact that I get to buy a new over the top outfit doesn’t hurt either!💖
These events, born out of love for candles and a deep-seated passion for creating unforgettable moments, have become the heartbeat of Campy Home. We've discovered that sometimes, the best way to light up a room is with a little creativity, a dash of sparkle, and a whole lotta heart.
